Rare plants rescued from their declining, fragile wetland habitat were returned to Munsley Bog last week.
Island 2000 have been working in partnership with the Environment Agengy and local landowners through the Gift to Nature scheme to restore some of the precious bog habitat and create a space for the new plants.
Cross-leaved heath and bog myrtle have been expertly propagated by the IW College Horticultural department and sensitively re-introduced to the bog in cleared areas where woody scrub was beginning to invade and dry out the bog. To read the full story click here.
