A walk of contrasts to view landscapes formed over millions of years, climbing classic chalk hills to Bembridge Down viewpoint, descending along the Red Cliff coastal path and returning by the River Yar.

Winter Solstice Walk
Time to be advised on booking
A winter guided walk around Headon Warren and the Needles headland finishing with soup and mince pies at the Needles Old Battery. About 2 hours.
Must be booked in advance. A moderately strenuous route; several stiles and some steep slopes. Dogs on leads welcome. Please note the route can be very cold and windy so suitable clothing and footwear needed.

Wight Lore: The Norman Fortress walk

See out the year by exploring the countryside south of Newport on this 6 mile walk from the Norman fortress of Carisbrooke. Walk along ancient highways and ridge path, and visit the idyllic 13th century church at Gatcombe. Back in time for a pub lunch
